OSX PPP Stall Problems

I am having this problem with the PPP software that came with MacOSX. I am using 10.1.2 right now and I remember this happening a while ago on my older G3, but since I took that to work and hooked it up to the lan, I didnt see the problem anymore since I didnt have to dial-up. But now that my new Dual 800 G4 is here at home, and I have to dial up, I have this problem where when the computer has been on for a while and hasnt been restarted, and I click on the telephone in the upper right hand corner and then to connect, it stalls for like 5 minutes and gives me the rainbow of death. Then It connects fine. But that really sucks. I dont want that shit. Does anybody else have this problem?... Is it a bug? Can I fix it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
 
I've never heard of this one before... but here are a few suggestions.

Try creating a new user and see if it happens while logged in as it.

You could also try deleting the preferences for Internet Connect.

Or try setting your Network preferences under the PPP tabs PPP Options to connect automatically when opening a TCP/IP application. Then just open Internet Explorer and see if it connects more quickly.
