OSX System On RAID?

I have two 40 Gig drives and a 120 Gig Drive, and I was wondering if anyone has tried putting OSX (Jaguar) on a RAID Set?

If so, what are your experiences?
Do you recommend it?

I would like to set it as a Stripe Scheme as I can't afford to "throw away" a 40 Gig drive. I would like to make the two 40 Gigs into an 80 Gig for the system, and use the 120 Gig for backups and other storage.

I have 2 30's making a 60 but I don't boot off of that. It's sweet, it's easy, it's everything I hoped it would be. Just be aware that in a striped config, if any drive fails the whole raid set fails. Your data is more fragile on a stripe set than on a single drive.
