OT- Installing XP

I'm really sorry for posting this on a mac forum(I'm a mac user), I'm desperate! I tried installing window's XP on my mate's PC(upgrading from ME). It started installing ok, I left it for 15 mins and when I went back, it had gone back to that original command screen you get when PC's first start up. Saying something about installation had been interrupted and giving me four option's about starting up in command mode and network mode or reverting to original settings? anyhow it counts down in seconds. Problem is it won't start with any of these option's and I don't know what to do. I know some of you guys on here will know what to do. My mate uses this computer for his business, so I need to sort it out asap. Thanks.
