Outlook Express Freeze-how to Recover

Outlook express (v.5) freezes during starting up. How can I repair or recover the data? I didn't save the address book and I am desperate. My computer is PowerbookG3. OS is 9.2.2. If anyone can help me, I truly appreciate it.

The first suggestion is to trash the Outlook Express preference file.

System Folder>Preference folder.
