Outputting PDF to RIP

When I am outputting a PDF to our RIP, I can only get an 8.5 x 11 image on our continuous x 12.2 film.
This is not a problem when ripping the same native file from Quark 6.
I am using Acrobat 5.0 from OS X, could that be the issue?

It could be, but there are a number of page setup options and printer setup options you could be setting (or failing to set) that could be causing this -- in addition, the problem could be anything from the program you're using to output the file from, to the imagesetter, or anything in between there.

Short answer: please elaborate greatly on your setup and the exact process (along with all pertinent settings) you're going through. Your original post is extremely vague, and, as such, only garners equally vague answers in return. If you can be more specific about the problem and the circumstances and settings, we can be of more help here -- help us help you!

I am outputting PDF's that are created in Quark 6 from Acrobat 5.0
The PDF shows a document set up of 12 x 12 but the RIP will only output an 8.5 x 11 image area. Our film is 12" wide, continuous length. Negs from other programs: Quark, Illustrator, InDesign can be output in various sizes. It seems its just Acrobat that is allowing only 8.5 x 11. The RIP is set up to allow various settings as far as line count etc. and have had no problems outputting custom sizes usually.

It sounds like you've selected "Letter" sized paper in the print setup options in Acrobat, instead of "Custom"... have you specified a custom print setup area of 12x12?
