Overclock G3 iBook via software

eventhough I have an iBook G3, I would never dare to do such things. However, there is a tool called iCook which allows you to increase or decrease the G3 clock of your iBook. It is not compatible to the G4 iBooks.
But decreasing the clock might be interesting for those, who want to have a longer battery life.
I posted this since I remembered lot of overclocking questions in the past..

Hmm, interesting. I'm usually not one for overclocking, but I may try this out on my graphite clamshell.

I was a bit more interested to this underclocking ;)
Would be interesting to see, how much longer the battery makes it. For typing word stuff and playing chess or tetris it should be very much enough to have G3 400MHz, huh?

That only applies to a few iBook models with the PPC750FX processor, though, i.e. 600 MHz and up.
