Overclock Intel iMac

I wouldn't.

The iMac isn't meant to be taken apart (at least, the newer versions). You'll probably void the warranty. You can't install more fans/cooling systems either. It's a 1000+ dollar computer.

If you want to try overclocking, find a nice, used PC.

Remember that overclocking is going to shorten the life of your processor and possible other components, regardless of what computer you do it to. Considering that the iMac is thin in nature, it's meant to withstand the heat that was tested for that processor. Going above that might introduce more heat into the scenario and with very little area for heat to dissipate you're going to end up overheating not only your processor but other components as well.

So to put it simply, no. Besides, the Core 2 Duos on the iMacs now (heck, even the 32-bit Core Duos) are quite fast as they are.

The most you can try is to get a faster hard drive and some more RAM. No need to take the processor beyond its limits.
