Ownership & Privilege Settings

A few months ago my assistant designer and I noticed that these settings had changed. Now when we transfer files and folders we have to go into these settings and alter them so we can have access privileges, etc in order to work on shared files. Is there somewhere I can go to overcome this hassle and reset the o&p to a default state?
 
I've downloaded TinkerTool and reset the ACLs. I can't see any reason for it not to work now. Terrific! Thanks again.
