Palm conduit just sits there

Installed Palm v4.0b77 with conduit manager 3.0.0b7 - got one sync a me (i'm admin) and thought I'd try another OS user login with different Palm and different Palm user - big mistake.
since then niether user will sync
lauches conduit manager ok and sits there saying 'establishing connection' until it times out.
other than complete clear out and reinstall - any ideas.
 
thanks for confirmation - since my kast post I ve removed every plam file is could 'find' and performed a uninstall followed by re-install - but no help still same probelem
And Palm are being less than responsive.
