Pane won't go away

When ever I startup each day the Connect to files server pane opens but I can't do anything with it. It won't respond to cancel or connect it just appears. I have a second monitor so I put it there to get out of the way but does anyone know how I get rid of it?
I'm running 10.2.3 on a dual 1 GHz.

A few ideas:

Short term fix: Relaunch Finder by going to Apple Menu > Force Quit and selecting Finder. That may eliminate the server browser for that login.

Do you possibly have something weird running at startup? Look in System Prefs > login items.

Beyond that. . . ?

I found the problem, it was a currupt preference file. I found it by moving the preference folder from my user library to the desktop and then loging out and loging backin rebuliding my preferences, the pane was gone. Next I replaced the preferences one at a time from the removed preferences folder on my desktop loging out and backin until the pane reappeared. The Loginwindow.plist was the corrupt preference. After deleting Loginwindow.plist pref. and replacing all the other preferences back into my user library preference folder and loging in and out , all is well again.
