Panther Network Issue/Concern

When I try to connect to my powerbook [via; smb://[computer name]] from my G5 it gives me this error;

Data on [Computer Name] unreadable [-36]


When I try to browse the network it gives me another error saying something to the extent; "Wait for the location to reapear on your desktop."


any help would be appreciated,

smb:// is for connecting to Windows computers.

afp:// is for connecting to other macs.

In System Preferences > Sharing do you have personal file sharing turned on on the host computer?
