Panther Postfix Question

I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience (good/bad) with postfix on 10.3. Does it work "out of the box" or is there going to be lots of configuration necessary. What about hooking it into php. I know how to do this all, but without access to 10.3, don’t know how much work its going to be.

I did try it (as well as Qmail) on an early Jaguar (10.2.2 +/- .2) and never ever got any of them to run. I recently (2 months ago) found the sendmail enabler and managed to get sendmail to run (if I repaired permission after virtually every software install thereafter). Does Postfix work out of the box in Panther? If not, what steps are needed to make it work
1) as an SMTP server for Eudore, Mail etc.
2) as a MTA for PHP, Perl etc.?

Any tricks and hints are appreciated.
