Panther speed

Just wanted to post a comment. I just installed panther 7B69 onto a 600mhz iBook, and with only 128mb of RAM, it acutally ran well! It was no speed demon, but it made actually using the system feel more like OS 9. No waiting for the machine to catch up to me!

If this is any indication of the progress of Panther, I'd say we should all be happy of the speed improvements it will bring.

well, happy that you're happy. clean installs of Panther show quite a speed increase for me on my iBook 800 when compared to Jaguar clean installs. so I can only agree that Panther will be good for us.

Great! I just ordered an AlBook with 256MB RAM and I won't upgrade that till prices drop, so maybe I'll just have to become a software developer (or hang out on IRC) to get the speed upgrade...

Mine works fast enough but sometimes my mouse buttons get mixed up (i have extra buttons I use for expose) and I can't control stuff right.
