Panther vs. Longhorn: The Rematch!

I suppose if you spent your life on it, you would get used to it, but honestly, I haven't ever been able to not do something in Appleworks.
You mean like most Microsoft applications, right?

I've always used Word, and I know a lot about it, but there are lots of features that I have no need of, no clue about, or no knowledge of the existence thereof that may be useful. I guess if you have no basis of reference, you have no need. In a world with one person, you have no need of money, right? In a world with only Appleworks, you have no need of other extraneous features.

> Now if they would only label their computers as differentiably.

Oh, you mean like:

PowerMac G4 Mirrored Drive Doors
BowerBook G4 Gigabit Ethernet
PowerBook G3 Bronze Keyboard

Yeah, the next rev will probably be something like:

PowerMac G4 With That Little Thingy Hanging Off The Side That You Might Want To Use Once-in-awhile

(Just joshing, I've used Macs since they were called Lisas)

I have an iMac. What does that tell you?

Nothing, except that I have either a gumdrop-shaped computer or a desklamp-shaped computer.

I have an iMac DV+ Graphite running at 400 Mhz. What does that tell you?

Exactly which computer I have on my desk in my room.

What does Apple tell you?

That I have an iMac.

That's what I mean when I say they should label computers differentiably: like they used to, with an 8600 vs. a 9600 and all that. At least then you could tell exactly which computer you were using.
