Panther Worth the Upgrade?

Can anybody tell me how much better performance Panther is than Jaguar?

Obviously it has more features... but what I'm really needing to know is how much faster applications will run within that environment.

I am running a older G4 (400Mhz) and a G4 iMac (800Mhz). Thanks!

As more applications become available you'll find they will be available for 10.3 and higher. Yet I do not think this will happen soon.
Otherwise, it is safe to stick with Jaguar if you are satisfied with the performance.

I honestly can't remember how fast apps ran in Jaguar.

I certainly haven't noticed any slow down in Panther.

Even if the speed is just equivalent (I think it's a bit faster), you'll save lots of time because of Expose and the Finder sidebar alone (i.e. Panther is brilliant).

However, at this point I think you should just wait for Tiger to be released.

P.S. Having said that, I'd be willing to sell you my copy of Panther for US $70 + postage. (I know that I'll be getting Tiger as soon as I can).
