Parallels or Virtual PC?

If I got bootcamp or VMWare, do I need to run windows as well? I downloaded the trial version of parallels, but I need to run windows, so I'm going to trash it.

Yes. The difference there is that BootCamp requires Windows XP SP2 or later, whereas Parallels (and I think VMWare) can run any version of Windows going back to 3.1.

Thanks for the responses. The IT guys at uni won't loan, rent, sell, or give me windows, so I'm leaving it to my lecturer. I'm hoping it means I can actually avoid the whole quantitative research stats modules (well I can dream can't I? )
