I wish to change the partition scheme on an external 1T HD. I originally partitioned it into 2 volumes and now wish to make the first volume that I use for time machine backups a little smaller and the second that I use for storage bigger. When I use Diskutility it tells me This operation requires a newer version of Mac OS X for this disk. BTW, I do have a beta copy of lion installed on the second volume but do not see how this would affect a resize to make it larger. I am running the latest version of SL on my macbook pro that is my main cpu. Is there a way I can make the second partition that I use for storage larger without erasing anything?
