Pass Protect a folder

OK hey how do i password protect a folder on the net so say somone goes to www.lalal.com/private/ then a msgbox would pop up asking for a password then take u to that folder if it is correct?

kworden, thats only usefull if it's your server or you have sufficent privelages and shell access on a server.
