Lately I've made this encrypted disc image (256 bit encrypted) to store my personall files in. To make full use of the excryption I thought up some insanely difficult password, a pretty long combination of letters, numbers and symbols. But when I tried to open to disc image with the password and was sure I had mistyped one or two of the chracters/symbols, it opened nonetheless. For example, it appeared that it doesn't matter whether you use the letter 'u' or an 'ü' (difference in the pressed keyboard buttons), but is does recognize difference is capitalized letters.
Question
Browsing the internet I couldn't find an article stating what 'parameters' the disc utility accepts in thinking up passwords, such as capitalization, symbols, etc.
