PB G4 power adapter problem

hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone of you have problem with your G4 power adapter. I bought my PB G4 867Mz about a year ago and recently the adapater just stopped working. I returned the adapter to the shop and they said they will see if they can get me a new one under warranty - apparently the extended warranty that I paid over a $100 (AUD) for does not cover the adapter but only the powerbook itself. The contract seems to consider the power adapter as an accessory rather than being part of the system.

I am wondering if anyone of your had the same experience?
 
Well, it all depends on what exactly happened to your power adaptor. "Stopped working" is pretty vague... is there any other details you can provide?

A while ago, people had various problems with the spot where the cord enters the power adaptor coming loose and exposing wires, causing shorts -- sometimes smoke and sparks as well. Does this seem like something that may have happened to yours?
