PB G4 problem

Hi all!

I've a PowerBook G4 1,67 with 1,5 Gb of RAM, OSX 10.4.7.
It happens that after 1 hour, 2 hours, or sometimes up to 8 hours of use, independently from what i'm doing (sometimes i'm doing nothing at all), independently from which applications are running (sometimes no application is running), independently if the computer is connectet or not to the internet, the PowerBook stops working, freezes, keyboard and trackpad don't respond anymore. All I can do is to press the power switch and switch off the machine. This happens regularly, I mean, if I leave the computer on enough, it happens.
I've really no idea what to do and what could be the cause of this. Permissions are repaired regularly. Who can help me please?

Thank you so much!

My suggestion is, if the Mac is still under warranty, you should take advantage of that and have Apple take a look at it.

Some things that you can do is ensure nothing is loose on the PB. For example, it appears you have added memory, make sure it is securely in place in the appropriate slots. The inconsistency of the problem may be faulty memory, or a loose chip. If you have the install CD/DVD, you could run the hardware diagnosis program.

You can also check the log files, that is the crash logs to see if you can discover a pattern.

thank you powermac

i run the apple hardware test and the pb passed all tests
i checked my warranty status and have more 65 days left, so i have some time more to check if the problem persists, so, in case of...

thanks again
