Pci Fans?

Wow...welcome back! :D

Well, it depends. Some PCI devices do generate heat, especially if they're video cards or whatnot, so these fans might help cool these devices down. They also help with the flow of air, but you would have to have an idea of how the airflow is in your Power Macintosh G3's case. They might also introduce more noise coming from your system.

Basically, it's up to you.

Thank you,
:D I appetite your help.

Usually those PCI slot fans are for custom-built computers, where the builder may have added devices that generate a lot of heat that the regular power supply/case fans are not adequate for.

Since Apple's machines are built from scratch by Apple, they are designed to have adequate cooling if the machine is not heavily "modded." Unless you're running 5 hard drives, three video cards and an oven inside your computer, you will not notice ANY performance improvement from a PCI fan... in fact, even on a PC, the only thing a PCI fan will do is prevent the computer from overheating... it won't make it go any faster at all.

Well I am thinking of upgrading me CPU, would I need extra cooling for a 1GHZ?
and is this possible

What model of machine do you have?

CPU upgrades typically come with a heatsink and/or fan that will adequately cool the new processor without help from extra fans.
