Can anyone help me? I am running 10.3.9 and had a problem starting up, UNIX shell stopped start up with this message: "master.passwrd: not a directory" I found the problem and fixed it, NU changed the value of the master.passwrd/etc directory to a file. Using the UNIX shell I deleted the /etc directory and recreated. Machine starts up fine, but some of my apps don't work properly: ie, photoshop CS2 doesn't start, Canon's Digital Professional does not preview CR2 files. I know that it must be a permissions error, but Disk Utility doesn't seem to make any fix and if I start up off the CD and run Disk Utility, it comes across an error and ceases to continue.
