Hi.

I need a font with the phonetic symbols compatible with OS X. Do you know a place where I can find one free ?

thank you,
Pierre

You can use the SIL IPA fonts in OS X just as you could in OS 7, 8 and 9.

www.sil.org will get you going, look for the SILIPA93 fonts and you are good to go. They are free and you have three to choose from.

:)

I already downloaded them before posting this message. (before asking smthg I use to try to find a solution)
They don't work very well : in photoshop it's all right, idem in PickChar, but into TextEdit - for example - it doesn't work, the font is automatically replaced by Lucida (or somthing like that).

Oh, I tested it in Word and they worked fine. I just figured if it worked in Word it would work in just about anything.

It would be nice if they came out with newer ones' thought, wouldn't it?
