pine Certificates

I have network SSL certificates that need to be loaded in order to access mail. The Fink install I have of pine does not load the certificates, giving me this error:

Can't open folder {imap.math.gatech.edu/norsh/ssl/user=ewebb/novalidate-cert}

[ewebb being my user name]

I assume this means that the path to the certificates is incorrect, but is this something that can be changed with a config file or would I need to recompile with some new flags or something more along those lines?
