If my memory serves me correctly, the DVR-105 only burns CD-RW's at 8x, but the new DVR-106 burns CD-RW's at 10x, as well as DVD+R at 4x and DVD+RW at 2.4x. Just an observation.

Good observation! I think you are right about it being a 106. I was told that Panther supports DVD+R and DVD+RW. Apple more than likely didn't mention the ability to use DVD+R and DVD+RW with the G5 because they are running 10.2.7 which doesn't support DVD+R and DVD+RW. So, once Panther is released the drive will automatically support DVD+R and DVD+RW.
