Don't recommend it. I don't see why you can't take the pane out and replace it, but I don't know what all has changed. My recommendation is that if you want to pull an LCD out of the housing and put it into the Pismo's display housing, use a Lombard display for it as they are much closer in terms of LCD panel spec, but still cheaper than a Pismo display.
But if you want to swap displays with housing and all, the answer is no. Too much different in terms of connections and the like.
