when i try to play most WMV files, i get this:
"the hardware license for this content is inconsitent"
huh?
i'm
osx10.4.3
g4 15'
and i have windows media player 9

i googled this problem, and got a thing called WMVplayer/ flip4mac -- doens't help.
a lotta people seem to have this trouble. any of you guys/ gals know a fix..?

I have never had that problem.

I was going to suggest VLC player but doesn't seem to be able to decode WMV (it can however play the audio from the file).

Sounds like a message you might get when trying to copy a protected Media Player file on to an unlicensed computer. But I really don't know.

Try to Google (or equivalent) ...

"the hardware license for this content is inconsistent"

... instead of ...

"the hardware license for this content is inconsitent".

I'm with btoth on this one. It sounds like you are trying to play DRMed content. WMP 9 for MacOS X can't play DRMed content.

Get used to it. DRM is where we're headed. And it sucks.
