Hoping someone can shed some light on a playback problem I'm having with Final Cut Express:
I have my external drive connected to my Sony HD camcorder via a Firewire 400 cable. The camcorder is then connected to a Toshiba Regza w/s LCD TV via a/v out (red, white and yellow cables). When playing back footage from the camera it plays on the TV fine. However, when setting FCE to View\Video Out\Apple Firewire NTSC (or PAL), I get the audio coming through on both the camcorder and the TV, but no picture (this is with the camcorder set to 'playback' mode. I've also tried with standard AV footage i.e. non-HD, and with this a get a load of pixelated squares, which are the image but they're rearranged all over the place. So I'm wondering if this may be some sort of sync problem, or digital to analogue conversion issue. Can anyone offer some guidance?
