Playing DTS Sound on DVD

Hi!
I recently bought a DVD movie that is recorded on DTS sound. The sound doesn't play on my Mac. Flat Panel 20" iMac G5 running Tiger. However, the same DVD plays very well indeed on my DVD Player (Home Theatre) Is there any way to play DVDs with DTS sound on Mac? I tried both Mac's own DVD Player and VLC player and none of them played the sound. I am confused. Can someone please help?

DTS is a particular standard that needs to be supported to work, like any other codec. VLC doesn't support it, and neither does apples DVD player. you DVD player does support true 5.1 Dolby Digital, but only if you have a 5.1 system hooked up to the optical audio out, and have that system selected in dvd players preferences. if i want to use dts, i'll use my seperate dvd player, i'm afraid.
