I am trying to play mp4 films stored on my NAS (Buffalo Linkstation Pro) on my MacBook Pro using Quicktime.
99% of the time this works without any problems. However, occasionally the playback jitters. The films are about 600Mb and last about 70 minutes. I can copy the whole file from my NAS to my MacBook or vise versa in about 5 minutes, so (on average) there isn't a problem with the speed of my wireless network.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to stop the jitters? Is is possible to buffer files being played by Quicktime from an external hard disk?
