Please Help! Raid Problem...

Hi!

I am using an Adaptec 2960UW in my new Quicksilver G4 with two IBM HDs. They are giving me very good performance but while writing to the raid the cursor starts to hang for about 0.5 secs and the music from itunes pauses for that period.
I am not sure if this is a fault from the cards driver or apples raid driver, i hope anyone can help me because it is very annoying.

try running the top command in terminal to check who is "halting" the system. If it is the kernel, I guess the drivers of the RAID card are to blame. If it is the Finder...weeeeeeell....than I have no clue what to do... :(
 
It's a Unix command to monitor the usage of ressources, such as your CPU and you RAM. Apple delivers a GUI wrapper for Top, the Process viewer. You just have to check what task brings your machine to a halt (what task takes the CPU) or if it is the Kernel (the core of the system controlling the PCI cards for example).
