Please help with Pages!

I have owned 3 macbook pros now and normally know how to fix things by now. Although, I just got a new one recently and just loaded the iworks on my computer that I have had from my previous computers. Pages is on my computer now, but for some reason the font will not show up. All the colors are different from what it says its supposed to be. For example, when I chose the black font, it shows up white. When I double click on the page, it shows up in white font. When I click on the burgundy like color, it shows up light blue. Can someone please help me so I can write papers for my online classes??

Did all of your colors on the screen get inverted or just in Pages? Is this not something pressing Control+Command+Option+8 would fix?

Unfortunately, no. I tried it and it ended up turning my background colors to a black color. And it is just in pages I'm having the problem. Any more ideas? But thanks for responding, I appreciate it.
