Pointer issues in OSX 10.4.5 Tiger

I recently upgraded to Mac OSX 10.4.5 and immediately began experiencing irratic "Pointer" movements accross my desktop. It occurs sporadically or should I say in irregular intervals when the mouse is sitting Idle. Is this a common problem and how can it be resolved.

I recently upgraded to Mac OSX 10.4.5 and immediately began experiencing irratic "Pointer" movements accross my desktop. It occurs sporadically or should I say in irregular intervals when the mouse is sitting Idle. Is this a common problem and how can it be resolved.

I had similar problem on my PC both with Windows XP and Linux. It went to a
degree where mouse clicked on its own, so I was afraid what will it do when
I am on my bank's web... I bought new mouse, which solved the problem.
