Poor display with G5 and CRT monitor

I'm using a dual processor G5, and a IIyama Vision Master 17 CRT monitor, connected using the adapter that Apple supplied with the computer. I have trouble with horizontal bands on the screen, in line with the edges of windows. The video card is the GeForce FX 5200 supplied with the machine, and the problem appears regardless of the resolution or colour depth I set. Has anyone any suggestions?

Yes-it works fine with Windows XP (and also with my elderly Acorn RISC PC!)

Try adjusting the refresh rate on the G5.
