Since installing the last few updates, my machine seems to run hotter and causes the fan to run constantly once it warms up...

Any cures?

TIA

in checkint the Activity Monitor I found that the "print job manager" was using about 80 percent of the CPU. What gives? I don't even have a printer attached to the computer?

TIA

Well, to be honest, I don't know why it's running at full cpu, so I hope someone else posts that knows why but for now, you can end that task.

Sounds like you must use it in the refridgerator, eh?

110 degrees is the lowest this Powerbook CPU has ever run, thus the Macbook came about, I believe.

How do you guys measure the temperature your cpu is running at?

My 12" powerbook 1.5Ghz has been running hot recently as well.

I just found the temperature monitor application and widget. Cool.

Now, what to do about my frequently hot laptop...

hi, i have a little bit different problem....I bought used powerbook g4...in great condition, all working great and in a more than month of using it I didn't hear it's fan turning on at all. Temperature is below 50 celsius. Gets little bit hot only when I'm using programs like Ableton live which needs more processor power.
Any comments?
Can i somehow check the fans?
