slightly used for $26, is that a good deal? I just need something that runs Simpletext, but am I getting ripped off?

Um, no...

Don't expect to run OS X on this, or even anything higher than 7.6, but for Simpletext this computer would be perfect.

May I ask what purpose you want this computer for (besides just Simpletext)? Like what you're writing with it? Code, technical documents, short stories, essays...

Actually, that PowerBook has an '040 chip... the highest it can go is Mac OS 8.1... which is definitely not a bad old OS at all. Feature-packed, considering the age

ok cool. I'm just using it for short stories, articles, and essays. I could just do that on this computer, but I Like to use lap tops lol.

Well go for it. My mom bought a Powerbook 190 back when it was new, and eventually I inherited it for minor word processing use (with Word 5). However, I have a very hard time keeping the power plug stuck in the device, so it's hard to charge, and I have my Palm IIIxe + keyboard combo anyway.

And, just in case you care, the PowerBook 520 and 540 carried the codename "Blackbird"... why, I have no idea. But it's a cool thing to know.
