PowerBook and Ettercap

Can you put the Powerbook network interface (either en0 or en1 if you have an AirPort card) into promiscuous mode?

When I run ettercap all I see if my own IP address. I don't see anything else on my LinkSys 4 port router.

I've installed ettercap on several other systems without any problems, and was wondering if it had something to do with the Apple interfaces.

I've run it on my iBook 500 without encountering that problem. Don't know if that helps.

Your Linksys might also be a switch. If it is, it will only forward packets through ports which their destination is on. Both you and a computer whose traffic you want to sniff would have to be on the same port. You may be able to disable this feature of the router using ARP cache poisoning.
