I have a powerbook G3 laptop which I require to be wireless. Bought a pci card but although the icon appears on the screen it doesn't work. This model is the 333hz/512 cache if that is any help. Works with ethernet to my wireless router but that's not much use when I'm out and about. Any help anyone can give would be great.

No PCI card can be used or needed. You need the original Airport card. Only used ones are available and are around $75-$80.

It is installed on left side under the keyboard.

Haven't checked in a while, but I believe this will work http://www.sonnettech.com/product/aria_extreme.html
Might want to fully check your specs first.

Hi; sounds as if you have a "lombard"laptop. There is no internal connection for a airport card in this machine.Don't know what OS you are running but if you are using OS9 then you can look for a Lucent Gold or Silver card.Under 9.1 or better, the finder sees this as a airport card.If your running OS 10 you might want to go to this site www.ioxperts.They have a list of drivers and cards that will work with OSX,I haven't been there in a while but if they are still there chances are that the card you bought can work on OSX
