PowerBook G3 Battery

Recently had to use my old Pismo G3 Powerbook which hadn't been started up since last November. To my horror it wouldn't start at all even when it was plugged into the mains, and even though I left it overnight it would not charge the battery and would not start.

Any ideas what is happening?

I've heard of deep discharge before, where a cross appears thro the battery icon but if the machine wont start at all what can one do?

Thanks

I had the same thing happen to me... your charger died. Even though it gets warm, the final connection to the PowerBook is broken. Buy a new one aftermarket and buy it with caution as the lower priced ones claim to work on PowerBooks but simply don't. Pay about $80 and buy it from a store that accepts returns on electrical items (just in case you get a dud.)
