Powerbook G4 battery life.

How long is the battery in a powerbook G4 supposed to last as mine seems to last approximately one hour whilst running and using Photoshop. Is this normal? Also, does anyone have any tips for extending battery life.
 
Powerbooks tend to get really hot during usage. At least the 12" model does, don't know about the others. When I had the said Powerbook, I had a battery life of about 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on what apps I was using. Nothing intensive that required the disk to be spinning much.
 
Do a search... there's a thread on how to figure out your battery capacity. You didn't say what size your PowerBook is... but the 15" max capacity is 4600. My new battery reads at 4417, which is fine for me.

Also, my new good battery lasts over 3 hours easily with all the extras on... bluetooth, wireless, display on brightest, etc. Conserving battery life doesn't matter if you're only getting an hour out of it. You'll probably just need to get a new one.
