i got a g4 powerbook, installed a pc harddrive in and i need to get it formatted to put osx on it, however it will not boot to a cd, i have disks from a powermac g4, it will not boot to the hardware test cd or the osx cd's...i hold the c key down or press it multiple times, neither make it boot. it always comes up with the folder and the mac icon flashing. please help im about to throw this thing out the window.

If your disks are "Software Restore" or "Software Install" disks that came with the PowerMac G4 tower, chances are they won't boot anything other than a PowerMac G4 tower.
Try using the retail version of Jaguar or Panther, depending on the age of the PowerBook (the old Titanium models should be able to boot Jaguar and Panther, while newer PowerBooks may be only able to boot Panther).
