Powerbook Wont Shutdown!

I cannot shutdown my 1.25ghz powerbook, it always stays on the blue screen with the spinning wheel infinately and i end up having to hold down the power key and forcing it to shutdown (which cant be good). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried the usual things (i.e. repair permissions and creating a new user account and testing it?). I know, this is what Zammy normally says, but I thought I'd just mention it this time around.

It could be due to some of the background applications that you are running. Check to see if turning them off helps anything. Go to System Preferences->Accounts->Startup Items and see if turning off everything there helps.

I had the same problem on my ibook, I did all the stuff in cocktail, (permissions, pre-binding , etc.) You find aeverything in under epilot tab in cocktail.
