PowerMac ATA/IDE?

I have a somewhat old ATA (pre-SATA, usually known as IDE) hard drive I would like to install in my PowerMac G5 (Dual2.0). Do I need a PCI card? I think I do based on what I've read, since as I recall the PowerMac only has SATA. If so, any suggestions on where to purchase a good PCI card for this?

Thanks

the truth be told, the best thing would not be to get an ide card, but to get an external enclosure to put the drive in. a usb2 one would be just fine. and i'm sure that you'll find it to be cheaper too.

For the price, it looks like a PCI card or a USB enclosure would be best.

The drive is salvaged from a windows PC (from work, though I switched to Mac in Feb '05), any thoughts on compatibility issues? There's no mention of compatibility with Mac OS in the product manual or anywhere else I look for information. Are compatibility issues common with hard drives?

Thanks for the advice so far

Hard drives are built as a storage device. It doesn't matter what you store on them - so long as the interface is compatible. A FireWire external drive would be better for large data transfers, or any kind of video work. USB would be OK for something like photo storage, document storage, smaller stuff.
