Powermac G3 Ram Upgrade

I am wanting to upgrade my machine to the max, so I am thinking of putting the most ram in as I can, How much can I put in?
Do I need a specific make / model?

If it's a Beige G3

Desktop, Minitower or All-in-One- 768 MB max

If it's a Blue & White - 1GB max

Is there any model that they specify or does it matter?

Also is there anyway that I could make that bit faster eg cooling etc?

Any Blue & White can use up to 1GB.
