Powermac G3 Video Card

I got a free powermac G3, but its video output was the wide serial port and all my monitors have the standard 3 row skinnier serial port type. So I got another PCI video card and put it in place of the old one with the incompaible monitor port. But there is no picture on the screen. Do I have to install drivers for the card? How am I supposed to install drivers when i cant even see?

Is the card specifically made for Macintosh computers? You can't take any old PC video card and put it in a Macintosh computer -- it won't work like that.
