Powermac G4 STILL won't boot...

Help! My Powermac G4 will NOT start up. When I press the power button, the light instantly fades out and nothing happens. The fan will run, but that's it. I thought it might need a new 3.6V battery, so I replaced it, but still it won't do anything.

Does anyone know what is going on??

Nothing good.

Dumb question: has it ever worked?

Make sure the power supply isn't set to 220v (If this is even possible, it'd be a recessed switch near where the power cord connects to the CPU)

Try a different outlet.

Other than that, take it in for repairs.

My Quicksilver is doing the same thing.
Power supplies run about $120-$130. Check part solver (partsolver.com). I've found that they have the best prices for stuff like this.
Good luck.

Yep. Bad power supply. Definitely check that the outlet you are using hasn't blown a fuse/breaker before you buy the new power supply. Have you installed anything new right before the problem? I found in my iMac that it didn't like ANY regular Airport cards I tried to install in it, so I gave up.
