Hi,

I'm using powerpoint on MacOSX. I have some images that come up as a big X

When I view it on a PC and other Mac's running same software they can see the images. Does anyone know what little "plugin" needs to be installed Or where do I go to install them all?

Thanks

It has nothing to do with plugins. It's just something like a "bug" or really bad incompatibility. There was a thread on this. Check out search or use this ;)

The big X in PPT typically means the original source image can't be found. In the OS 9 days it also meant PPT had run out of memory to display said image(s).

If the PPT file was set up to LINK to images as opposed to embedding them, then those source images may be missing or in a different directory. Perhaps the PCs have those images or access to them?

It has to do with the size of the linked image. I was doing a presentation and had an image that was set at a 300dpi resoluton. When I adjusted the resolution to 72dpi in Photoshop and re-saved, it inserted no problem.

This is not correct. Read more in this thread:

Some images will be shown correctly, but some will be missing. I think attomica (welcome to the forum :)) might be correct.. I am just living with this problem and hoping Office 2004 for mac will do better.
