PPP Connect Problems

have been on DSL. Now i need to use the dialup (Lombard 333, internal modem)

When I try to connect, nothing happens. When I look at the connection log, the following is displayed:

"Mac OS X lacks kernel support for PPP.
To include PPP support in the kernel, please follow
the steps detailed in the README.MacOSX file."

given that I am on the road, and do nto have my OSX CD, I do not have the readme file.

the only thing i know to suggest is to be sure you have entered all your isp info into a new location in the network prefs. and that it is sticking when you reboot.
