I just read that Wall Street rallied on the news that hurricane Rita was downgraded to Category 4. 
What a total JOKE! Ask people in Biloxi or Gulfport how tame a Cat 4 is. I guess that's why those guys are stock traders and not meteorologists.
Rita reportedly reached a greater peak wind speed than Katrina did - and Katrina, you may recall, was also downgraded to Cat 4 right before landfall.
Rough times are ahead for Gulf areas of MS and TX - but hopefully at LEAST (1) evacuations will be more thorough and (2) relief efforts will be a bit more expeditious.
